WWE's business focuses on professional wrestling, a simulated sport. It is currently the largest professional wrestling business in the world. The business previously existed as the Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC), which promoted under the banner of the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), then the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), and later World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Since then the business has grown into three brands, RAW, Smack Down, and ECW. The McMahons keep this wrestling business in their family for fifty years, with the help of a few friends, which made this business what it is today.

Roderick James “Jess” McMahon was a boxing promoter. In 1926, while working with Tex Rickard, who built Madison Square Garden, they started promoting boxing. Wikipedia states that, during that same time Joseph Raymond “Toots” Mondt created a new style of wrestling called “Slam Bang Western Style Wrestling” to make the sport more appealing to spectators.

Together, Roderick McMahon and Raymond Mondt where a successful combination, they created the Capitol Wrestling Corporation (CWC). The CWC joined the National Wrestling Association (NWA) in 1953. WWE.com explains that also in that year, Ray Fabiani, one of Mondt’s associates, brought in Vincent J. McMahon to replace his father Jess in the business. Mondt taught McMahon about booking and how to work in the wrestling business.
